High quality marble is typically very expensive. Therefore many people link up marble with luxurious design.

Tiles, and marble slabs have can be useed to face columns and buildings . marble countertops is good for bakers since the dense stone stays cool and resists oils, which is ideal for rolling out baked goods without sticking to the counter.

The quality of marble has wide variations. Unexperianced People can end up with pieces that are not useful, as they have cracks which will cause problems if the rock is used. It also it needs years of experience to learn to work with marble, since it is very brittle and hard. Marble can break if roughly treated. What colors does Marble come in?
Marble stones have many colors. And it is because of the impurities in the structure of the marble during formation. These impurities can be divided to mineral impurities such as Quartz, Tremolite, Actinolite, Chert, Garnet, Biotite, Muscovite, Microline, Talc and Fosterite. And chemical impurities like SiO2, Fe2O3, 2Fe2O3, 3H2O, Limonite, Manganese, Al2O3 and FeS2(pyrite), that cause shapes, layers and streaks to appear in the surface of the stone. There are lots of varieties of impurities that can very wide range of colors. Also, the way the impurities has placed in the stone form different shapes in the marble, so any piece of the marble stone is one of a kind. Due to this characteristic many artists prefer to work with marble stone as a means.

Marble stone Maintenance
Marble stones have has tiny holes in their surface, which they cannot be seen with the bear eye, but they are large enough to soak up moisture. Sometimes colorful liquids, such as fruit juices can soak into the holes of the marble, and permanently discoloring it.

To prevent such events a below surface sealer can be applied that will block the holes and making it impossible for moisture to go through it.

Also a chemical blockade can be applied to marble stones which will form an unseen layer over its surface, protecting it further.

The ancient Greeks and Romans both used the marble stone widely. The Greeks built many of their famous architectural masterpieces and the most well-known statues in history from marble stones. When the Roman Empire rose it conquered the Greek and many other quarries, in various countries and used marble in many of their architectural and artistic accomplishments as well. Due to these reasons, Marble is often connected with the Hellenic and Classical time age.
